Marathon Pressure Systems is committed to cleanliness!
Here at Marathon, we understand that, for the most part, Pressure Washing is still an uknown profession. We'd like to clear the air on some of the equipment we use, the methods we clean with, and also some tips and tricks to use when you're examining your property and your current pressure washer!

What to Watch Out For!
-
Splash-And-Dash: This is the term used in the Power Wash Industry to describe a contractor who shows up on a job, "splashes" some water down on the concrete, then "dashes" to his next job... or to his bed!

Here at Marathon, we take the time to evaluate the cleanliness of your concrete, and the strength of the detergent (if any) that will be used. Once we've determined the method we are going to use to clean, we take the time to ensure the job is done properly and to both the customers and our satisfaction.
-
Splatter: There's nothing worse than looking at clean concrete, then noticing dirty walls and windows from where the careless operator blasted all the dirt! Here at Marathon, we ask "why clean up one mess just to make another?" We rinse down all the walls, pillars, posts, and windows that are in the general vicinity in which we are working, to ensure that we're not simply moving the mess from one surface to another.
-
Striping: When an untrained individidual takes the pressure washing wand into his hands, the potential for damage or unsatisfactory results are enormous. You wouldn't hire an untrained individual to care for your teeth: so
why would you do the same when looking for somebody to care for your concrete? Even if you don't choose to work with us at Marathon, we urge you to remember that your appearance is crucial to the public eye, and to ensure that you hire a professional who wants nothing but the best for you and your property! Really: why would you pay somebody to damage your concrete?
-
Cold Water: There's nothing more frustrating than seeing cold water was used to clean concrete. You wouldn't use cold water to wash your dishes, would you? We use hot water to clean our dishes (and our concrete) because the excited water molecules create a much more vigorous cleaning action than cold water alone. Heated water cuts through grease, oils, dirt, and gum
faster, easier, and more completely than cold water alone. And trying to remove gum with cold water? As you can see in the picture on the right, you'll still have gum spots with etched concrete to go along with it! Again, why would you pay somebody to damage your concrete?
